Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Rehab performs direct patient care through utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act, physician orders, hospital policies and procedures, and established professional standards. The RN is responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, competent care either through direct care or appropriate delegation and for performance improvement and quality initiatives as appropriate. • Assesses patients initially on admission to the unit and continually according to patient needs, condition change, or unit/department standards
• Serves as an advocate for patient/family/SO regarding decisions affecting the Plan of Care.
• Meets the needs of the dying patient and family to include pain management, emotional and spiritual support
• Develops, implements, and modifies the patient’s plan of care according to the patient’s progress
• Demonstrates knowledge of specific disease process (diabetes, respiratory, endocrine, neurological, renal), treatments, interventions and responses based on age specificity, patient’s needs, condition, impairment, or disability

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing Required
• Minimum of one-year experience in specialty unit preferred
• Valid California RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
